Trujillo meets Burton!
Last year we asked 17 year old artist and musician Lullah Trujillo @Lullah Trujillo_art to design a skull for our next Cliff Burton Scholarship Fund Tee. When painting the skull, Lullah drew inspiration from heavy metal album covers that feature iconic and distinct artwork. Lullah loves metal music for its versatility and its emphasis on making a statement. She feels the velocity and intensity that Cliff used in his playing, combined with his use of beautiful melodies, inspires her in both music and art. Cliff’s influence on Lullah is a reminder of the artistic importance of balancing out both power and aggression with consistency—Cliff’s playing was really like a form of storytelling in that sense. Lullah happens to be the daughter of Rob and Chloe Trujillo. You can see her talents come naturally. She is currently playing drums in the punk band at @minorjerkbrains while also learning to play the bass. Creativity has always been a huge part of her life and a constant journey.
